Nostalgia is denial…

… denial of the painful present… the name for this denial is golden age thinking – the erroneous notion that a different time period is better than the one one’s living in – it’s a flaw in the romantic imagination of those people who find it difficult to cope with the present. – Midnight in Paris Quotes

  1. The blurring of the figures makes directs attention to the environment. You have chosen carefully those parts of Paris which are familiar as historic icons but which bear ironic signs of the present. I start to understand what Paris is for Parisien inhabitants, who in effect, live in a museum of nostalgia. Great observation!

  2. I really love the photo taken at Lamarck – Caulaincourt. The angle of the road is slightly weird and so intriguing, and then there’s the view over the rooftops into the distance – its very awkward but perfectly balanced 🙂

  3. I like that blurred figures are okay in your street photography. Now, I’m thinking of all the images I’ve thrown away! You’ve given me a new slant on this type of photography that I love to do. Thanks.
